Enlisted for three years on 23 Oct 1861 at Manitowoc and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, on 12 Dec 1861. Private. Assigned to Pioneer Corps on 26th and 27th of November, 1862. Mustered out with Company at Chattanooga, Tennessee, 13 Jan 1865. Post war: The 1890 Veterans and Widows Census shows him living at Brandon, Moe Township, Douglas County, Minnesota. He died “at his home Thanksgiving evening”. He is buried in West Moe Cemetery.
