Disappeared from Mississippi River Island No. 10 on 13 Aug 1863, but was back in the company again at Casseville, 22 May 1864, and was sent to hospital. “In accordance with Special Order Number 61 from the 3rd Division, Fourth Army Corps, he was returned to his unit without judgment other than being stripped of his pay and compensation up until 1 May 1864,” according to Buslett. Transferred to Company H at Whiteside, Tennessee, 1 Jan 1865. Assigned temporarily to the Wisconsin 24th Infantry. Transferred to Company I of the Wisconsin 13th on 10 Jun 1865.
