SCHESVOLD, Thor Pedersen

Residence: Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Born 11 Jul 1836 in Vaage parish in northern Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, to Peder Pedersen and Anne Thoresdatter Moen. Graduated from Tromso Seminary in 1859. Came to America in 1864. Civil War: Private. Wounded and retained a limp from a battle injury. Post war: In 1873, he entered Luther College, Decorah, Winneshiek County Iowa; transferred to theological seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Called to Tanum parish in Claybanks, Wisconsin. Married Julia Gigstad (1852-1907). Nine children. Died 1913 at Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
