Enlisted for three years on 14 Aug 1862 at Viroqua. Mustered 14 Sep 1862 at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Private. “Joined at organization of Regt and went to Minnesota but was sick much of the time we were there. Went with Regt and was in Siege of Vicksburg and there was taken sick again and sent to hospital in Memphis Tenn where he died in April 1864”. Died of disease at Memphis, Tennessee, on 11 Mar 1864.
