Enlisted for three years on 30 Oct 1861 at Spring Prairie and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, on 16 Nov 1861. Private. Captured by the enemy at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864. Died of scurvy in Andersonville Prison on 14 Oct 1864. Buried there in grave 10,919. The Andersonville records show him as “Bohnson”.
