DT Dakota Cavalry. Born 6 Jun 1835 at Fresvick, Sogn, Norway, son of Botolph Bothun and Elisabeth. Civil War: Age 27. Entered service in 1862. Commissioned Second Lieutenant. Post war: Married Brita. Died of nephritis on 4 Aug 1918 at age 83. Buried in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, lot 1, grave 5.
