CLEMENTSON, John

MN Mounted Rangers, 1st Regiment, Co F. Residence: Not shown. Born 1845 in Norway, son of Clement Klave. Civil War: Age 17. Enrolled 27 Sep 1862. Mustered 24 Nov 1862. Private. Said to have first enlisted in an Independent Company, then in Company F, and finally in Brackett’s Cavalry Battalion. Served in both Indian and Civil wars. He was at Kill Deer Mountain and in the Little Missouri River Bad Lands. Discharged from the service with his company on 2 Dec 1863. Post war: Married Ella Bergum. Died at age 79 on 26 Sep 1924 of a heart attack. Died in Brule Township, Union County, South Dakota. Buried there in St. Paul’s Cemetery, section 2, block 2, lot 20, grave 3.
