Enlisted for one year on 3 Sep 1864 at Milwaukee and mustered there the same day. Private. Note in red book says this soldier was originally enlisted as “Ole S. Emerson (Everson?)” and that under that name he was mustered into service on 11 Jun 1861, that he was in the Battle of Bull Run and was there wounded and taken prisoner, that he was in Libby Prison five months and 12 days, and that he was discharged from the service in June 1862 because of his wounds. Post war: A veteran by this name, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was granted a pension of $6 a month because of a gun shot to his head.
