Captured by the enemy at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864. Died of diarrhea on 31 Aug 1864 in Andersonville Prison. Buried there in grave 7355. A woman named Catherine Grund of Stockholm, Pepin County, was granted a widow’s pension of $8 a month.
