He came to America on “Salavator”, which sailed from Drammen and arrived in New York in July 1843. He came to Delafield Township, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, and moved by 1860 to Scandinavia Township, Waupaca County. Civil War: Age 41. Farmer. Married. Blue eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, 5’8”. Enlisted for one year on 23 Jan 1865 at Scandinavia. Mustered 10 Feb 1865 at Madison, Wisconsin. Bounty $100, $33.33 paid. Private. Post war: He died in 1896 and was buried at Iola, Waupaca County.
