WI 38th Inf Co G. Residence: Avon, Rock County, Wisconsin. Born 11 May 1834 at Nordre Land, Oppland, Norway, son of Tarald Hansen Jørandlien and Anne Olsdatter Øystar. He came to America with his parents and three siblings on the “Præciosa”, which sailed out of Skien, Telemark, and reached New York on 22 Aug 1845. Civil War: Farmer. Age 30. Blue eyes, light hair, fair complexion, 5’6½”. Enlisted for one year on 26 Aug 1864 at Janesville, Wisconsin. Mustered there the same day. Bounty $100. Private. Post war: Married Inger Rognholt.
