Mustered 10 Dec 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin. Wagonmaster. Left sick at Florence, Alabama, at the General Hospital on 26 Aug 1862. Reduced to ranks from Wagonmaster on 1 Nov 1862. Fined $5 on 15 May 1863 by sentence of Regimental Provost. Wounded, shot under his left eye, at Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sep 1863 and taken prisoner. Paroled and sent to hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Discharged from the service at U. S. Hospital No.8, Nashville, Tennessee, 30 Apr 1864, for disability on account of his wound.
