Enlisted for three years on 10 Aug 1861 at Waupaca, and mustered on 5 Sep 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Was in action at Fredericktown, Missouri, 21 Oct 1861; Mississippi River Island No. 10; New Madrid 18 Nov 1862; Farmington, Mississippi, 9 May 1862; the siege of Corinth, Mississippi, 1862.
