Enlisted for three years on 14 Dec 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 20 Dec 1861. Private. Assigned as Company Wagoner. Sick in Bowling Green, Kentucky, 17 Sep 1862. Promoted to Corporal. Sick on the 23rd and the 25th of July 1864. Mustered out with company on 2 Dec 1864 at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Post war: Returned to Sterling after the war.
