Enlisted for three years on 9 Dec 1861 at Pine Lake, and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, the next day. Private. Sick in Nashville 26 Dec 1862, and left behind in the convalescent camp of the 1st Division. Disappeared from Nashville on 26 Jul 1864 and was listed as a deserter after 2 Aug 1864 but it may have been that he had been transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corp on 15 Feb 1864.
