WI 22nd Inf Co B. Residence: Plymouth, Wisconsin. Civil War: Unmarried. Age 19. Farmer. Blue eyes, light hair, fair complexion, 5’3”. Enlisted for three years on 14 Aug 1862 at Beloit, Wisconsin. Mustered 1 Sep 1862 at Camp Utley, Racine, Wisconsin. Private. Killed in action at Peach Tree Creek on 20 Jul 1864. Shot in the head. “He stood beside me when a bullet struck him in the head and he died instantly”, wrote Thomas Simonson.
