Enlisted for three years on 14 Aug 1862 at Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Mustered 18 Aug 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Killed in the battle of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, on 7 Dec 1862. He had received $25 of his bounty, according to Johnson’s final statement signed by Company Commander E. G. Miller.
