WI 23rd Inf Co K. Residence: Sumpter, near Prairie du Sac, Sauk County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Married. Age 25. Enlisted for three years on 13 Aug 1862 at Prairie du Sac. Mustered 30 Aug 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Sergeant. Wounded in his left thigh and captured by the enemy at Carrioncrow Bayou, Louisiana, on 3 Nov 1863. Exchanged the next day.
