Enlisted for three years on 6 Oct 1862 at Ottawa, Illinois, and mustered there on 8 Dec 1862. Private. Mustered out with his Battery on 18 Jul 1865. Post war: Died at age 75 on 13 Mar 1916 at Howard, South Dakota. He is buried in Graceland Cemetery there, lot 42, block H, grave 3.
