Re-enlisted for four years on 4 Jan 1864 at Culpepper, Virginia; bounty $400. Sergeant. Discharged from the Regiment on 1 Feb 1864 to accept a commission in the WI 45th Inf Regiment. Became Captain of Company H. Post war: Granted a pension of $4 a month because of a wound to his right forearm.
