Served formerly in WI 30th Co A, from which he was discharged 16 Apr 1864 to accept Commission as First Lieutenant of Company F. Promoted to Captain. Wounded 2 Apr 1864 at Fort Malone, Virginia, and sent to Emery U S General Hospital, Washington, DC. Received a sick leave of absence for thirty days on 6 May 1865.
