WI 25th Inf Co K. Residence: Coon Valley, Vernon County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Unmarried. Age 21. Enlisted for three years on 21 Aug 1862 at Viroqua, Wisconsin. Mustered 14 Sep 1862 at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Private. Killed in action at Salkehatchie, South Carolina, on 2 Feb 1865. After his death, his captain wrote in the next muster roll: “Was detailed as Bugler for Regt and acted in that capacity. He could sound all the calls promptly. Was Brave and energetic and was killed on 2 Feb.
