Enlisted for three years on 4 Jan 1864 at Black River Falls. Enlistment credited to Albion, Jackson County. Mustered 14 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Was all through the Red River campaign. Was sent sick to the Overton U. S. General hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, on 4 Jun 1864 and died there that day of chronic diarrhea.
