US Navy. Born 1835 in Denmark. Civil War: Enlisted from Massachusetts. Quartermaster. Awarded Medal of Honor. On board the U.S. Steam Gunboat Marblehead off Legareville, Stone’s River, on 25 Dec 1863, during an engagement with enemy on John’s Island, Miller behaved gallantly throughout the engagement which resulted in the enemy’s withdrawal and the abandonment of his arms.
