Enlisted for three years at Waterford, Wisconsin, 15 Nov 1861, and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 2 Dec 1861. Private. Sick at Mississippi River Island No. 10 on 10 Jun 1862. Taken prisoner at Stone’s River, Tennessee. Exchanged. Sick in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 28 Jan 1863 and died there of chronic diarrhea on 3 Dec 1863.
