Enlisted for three years on 25 Aug 1862 at La Crosse, Wisconsin, and mustered there the same day. Bounty $100. Private. Detached to 8th Wisconsin Battery since 29 Jul 1863, by order of Col. H. C. Heg. Transferred to the Wisconsin 24th Infantry in December 1864. Transferred to Company H at Whiteside, Tennessee, and then to the 24th Infantry on 13 Feb 1865. Discharged 22 Jun 1865. Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Elroy, Wisconsin.
