Enlisted for three years on 11 Feb 1862 in Fillmore County and mustered at Camp Randall, Madison, Wisconsin, the same day (?). Private. Left sick at Mississippi River Island No. 10 on 11 Jun 1862. Was on Military Police duty on 27 Oct 1862. Taken prisoner at Stone’s River, Tennessee, 31 Dec 1862. Exchanged at St. Louis, Missouri, in 1863. Died of disease while at his home on furlough in Fillmore County, 16 Sep 1863. Buried in Highland Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, Bratsburg, Fillmore County. Headstone reads “Iver Nelson Weker, Co K, 15th Reg, Wis Vol, died 16 Sep 1863, age 26 years”. Post War: His widow, Guri Hanson, was living in Bratsberg in 1890.
