WI 16th Inf Co G. Residence: Perry Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. Born 4 Sep 1821 in Vik, Hordaland, Norway, son of Ole Ellingsen Vikøren and Aasa Bendiksdatter. He came to America on the “Peder Schreuder”, sailing from Bergen and arriving in New York on 30 Jun 1845. Married about 1849 to Marit Juelsdatter Hoverud. Civil War: Age 42. Private. Post war: Lars and his family moved to Lake Preston, South Dakota, in 1892. Lars died at age 83 on 8 Mar 1905 and is buried in the Lake Preston City Cemetery, block 1, lot 1, grave 3.
