MN Brackett’s Cavalry Battalion Co B. Residence: Red Wing, Minnesota. Born in Norway about 1831. Civil War: Age 34. Enrolled 20 Feb 1865. Mustered 21 Feb 1865. Private. Served in Indian and Civil wars. Discharged from the service for disability, 30 Jul 1865. Post war: Injuries suffered in the war caused him to become an invalid the last seventeen years of his life. Moved from Minnesota to Cooperstown, Griggs County, Dakota Territory, Apr 1885. He died about 1901 in Binford; death attributed to “rupture”.
