They came to Muskego, Racine County, Wisconsin, Norway. In June 1856, they moved to Pierce County. Civil War: Farmer. Age 24. Unmarried. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’9”. Enlisted for three years on 21 Aug 1862 at Martell. Mustered 21 Oct 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Mustered out with his regiment on 20 Sep 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. Post war: Lived at Elsworth, Pierce County. He was married on 10 Dec 1868 to Goro Bjerkeng. Eleven children. He died 16 Oct 1934 at his home.
