WI 14th Inf Co I. Residence: Black River Falls, Jackson County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Age 24. Lumberman. Unmarried. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’7”. Enlisted for three years on 4 Jan 1864 at Black River Falls. Mustered 20 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Recruit. Was all through the Red River Campaign. Took part in the battle of Tupelo, the skirmish on White River, the march from Brownsville to Cape Girardeau, and the Missouri campaign.
