Assigned to the 68th Indiana on 1 Feb 1863. Returned to Wisconsin 15th Company I on 2 Apr 1863. Wounded in his left leg at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1863 and sent to hospital. Moved to Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri. Mustered out with Company I on 13 Feb 1865 at Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is on the Roll of Honor of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Army Corps.
