TX 46th Cav Co B. CSA. Born “Peder Olsen Songe” on 27 Feb 1843 at Tromoy, Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Gray eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’8”. Enlisted for one year on 7 May 1862 at Stephenville. Private. Bugler. Reenlisted for three years or the war on 20 Dec 1862 at Camp Salmon. Sent to Austin, Texas, as a waggoner on 27 Jun 1863. Sometime in the spring of 1864, he deserted and made his way to San Elizario, El Paso County, Texas. He was taken to Santa Fe, New Mexico Territory, in early July. There he took an oath of allegiance to the Union. Post war: Died on 27 Apr 1895 at Norse, Bosque County, Texas.
