He was given leave from Camp Randall and while away he suffered a strain that made him unfit for service. He was discharged from the service for disability, 6 Feb 1862. Muster rolls for WI 15th Inf Co A indicate that he had been transferred there, and he was listed on that company’s roll for awhile; then moved to C Company and on to D Company.
