MN 1st Inf Co D. From Flatdal, Telemarken, Norway. Born in 1843. Came with his parents to America in 1843. Eventually settled in Fillmore County, Minnesota. Civil War: Mustered 4 Oct 1864. Private. An artilleryman. In the Civil War, he served in the 1st Minnesota Battery as company clerk. He was also clerk of general courts martial at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mustered out 15 Oct 1865.
