MN 4th Inf Co B. Born in Hedalen, Valdres, Norway, on 17 Sep 1832, son of John Christensen Stugarden and Berit Olsdatter Öikegaardsbraaten. Came to America in 1854. Married in 1860 to Beate Johnson. Civil War: Enlisted in 1861. Private. Discharged from the service for disability due to illness. Re-enlisted in 1864 in MN 2nd Inf Co I. Served until the end of the war. Post war: Moved to Sauk Center, Minnesota, in 1909. Died there in 1926.
