MN 10th Inf Co D. Residence: Decorah, Winneshiek County, Iowa. “Andreas Schodt Groven” was born on the Groven farm in Brunkeberg, Valders, Norway, son of Saave Aaker Groven and Anne Christine Schodt. He came to America with his parents in 1852. Lived at Wanamingo Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota. Civil War: Age 16. “Andreas Aaker Groven” interrupted his studies at Luther College in Decorah to enlist in September 1864. Mustered at Fort Snelling. Private.
