WI 7th Inf Co K. Residence: Turtle, Rock County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Farmer. Age 35. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 6’1½”. Enlisted for three years on 23 Aug 1861 at Beloit, Wisconsin. Mustered 2 Sep 1861 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Took part in the battles of Gainesville, the second Bull Run and South Mountain. Severely wounded in a foot on 14 Sep 1862 during the battle of South Mountain, Maryland. Sent to General Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, and on 17 Feb 1863 he was discharged from the service from there as having been disabled due to his wounds.
