WI 2nd Cavalry. Born 22 Sep 1846 in Valders, Norway. Came to America with a brother in 1856, to Dane County, Wisconsin. Moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 1859. Civil War: Enlisted in Wisconsin 2nd Cavalry in 1862, serving until 1865. Private. Wounded. After the war, he went to Pope County, Minnesota. Clerk of Court 13 years, Justice of Peace 26 years.
