WI 19th Inf Co B. Residence: Houston, Minnesota. Civil War: Age 32. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 11 Jan 1862 at Houston. Mustered 4 Mar 1862 at Racine, Wisconsin. Private. Died of disease 11 Aug 1863 at Yorktown, Virginia. Corporal Ole Hougan wrote that on 10 Aug “Tarje Tallefson got very sick last evening. We had to work continually with him to warm up his feet and hands and we had to shake him each minute to keep him awake so that he would not sleep away into Eternity.” On 11 Aug, Hougan wrote “Tarje Tallefson died this morning at 4 o’clock.
