MN Lt Arty 2nd Battery. Residence: Dakota County, Minnesota. Born in Homan, Rauland, Vinje, Telemark, Norway, a brother to Civil War soldiers Knud and Talleff Torgerson. They came to America in 1859 to Dakota County, Minnesota, near Farmington. All three were married. Civil War: Age 41. Enrolled 27 Aug 1864. Mustered 31 Aug 1864. Recruit. Private. Discharged from the service with the Battery, 16 Aug 1865. In 1890, he was living in Bottineau, Bottineau County, North Dakota. Moved to Cavalier County, North Dakota, near Vang, which is near Langdon. Died 9 Aug 1912 and is buried in Homan Lutheran Cemetery, Cavalier County.
