Enlisted for three years on 18 Aug 1862 at Hudson, Wisconsin. Mustered 21 Oct 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Assigned to a battalion (artillery ?) 17 Jun 1863. On detached service with the Prairie Battery in June 1864. Died of typhoid fever on 27 Jul 1864 at Fort Rice, Dakota Territory. Buried at Fort Rice, grave 97.
