MN 2nd Inf Co E. Residence: Oak Grove, Anoka County, Minnesota. Born 1 Oct 1844 in Sweden. Came to Minnesota in 1864. Civil War: Age 20. Enlisted as a substitute and was mustered in on 13 Oct 1864 as a Private. Discharged 11 Jul 1865. Post war: Worked as a sawmiller and as a farmer. Married on 7 May 1870. Eight children.
