This brooch, or hjertesølje, consists of a heart-shaped center that is topped with a massive crown. There is a large curvilinear pendant in the center that is a copy of the monogram for Frederik V, who was king from 1746 to 1765. Small diamond-shaped pendants hang from this central pendant. Dangles in the shapes of diamonds hang from the crown and the sides of the heart. Tiny birds and leaves hang from these diamonds. The brooch still has the original prong fastener.
