Odd Fletre was born at Fletre farm, Voss, Norway in 1893. He emigrated to the United States in 1913, and settled in Chicago. He studied architecture and was employed by an architectural firm until he returned to Norway in 1930. He died of tuberculosis at Fletre farm in 1933.
This painting was exhibited at the Chicago Norske Klub in 1930.
