Enlisted for three years on 14 Aug 1862 at Manitowoc. Mustered 5 Sep 1862 at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Private. Absent sick in a hospital at Tyner Springs, Tennessee, on 24 Nov 1862. Was moved to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee on 3 Mar 1863 and was there until May. Discharged from the service for disability on 20 Jun 1863 at Camp Dennison, Ohio. Re-enlisted for three years on 27 Jan 1864 at Manitowoc. Mustered 22 Feb 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Engaged in the Siege of Atlanta in 1864.
