Enlisted for three years on 15 Mar 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there on 20 Apr 1864. Private. Joined the 15th Regiment at Dallas, Georgia. Transferred to Company H on 1 Dec 1864. Assigned temporarily to the WI 14th. Transferred on 10 Jun 1865 to Company K of the 13th Infantry. Mustered out 24 Nov 1865 at San Antonio, Texas. Post war: Lived at Lake Lillian, Minnesota. He was a brother to John Anderson of WI 3rd Inf Co K.
