ANDERSON, Arne

MN 7th Inf Co G. Residence: Wanamingo, Goodhue County, Minnesota. Born 13 Nov 1836 at Sogn, Norway, son of Anders Arneson Urness Marum. Came to America in 1862. Civil War: Age 25. Enrolled 15 Aug 1862. Mustered 30 Oct 1862. Private. Served in Indian war 1862-1863; in Civil war 1863-1865. Discharged from the service with his regiment, 16 Aug 1865. Post war: Married Kari Sjursdatter (Severson) on 18 May 1866. In 1890, Lt. Col. Daniel Densmore, a former First Lieutenant in G Company, stated that Arm Anderson was really Arne Anderson, mustered in 15 Aug 1862 at age 25, mustered out 16 Aug 1865. Anderson died 9 Jul 1893 in Goodhue County, Minnesota, of injuries suffered in a fall from atop a load of hay. He is buried in Dale churchyard, Cherry Grove township, Goodhue County.
