WI 11th Inf Co K. Residence: Winchester, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. Born 12 Feb 1820 in Holla, Telemark, Norway. Married on 26 Aug 1841 to Karen Gundersdatter Heisholt. Came to America on board the “Salvator”, from Porsgrunn, Telemark, arriving in New York 6 Jul 1844. Came to Pine Lake, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Farmer. Age 43. Blue eyes, brown hair, ruddy complexion, 5’9”. Volunteer Recruit. Enlisted for three years on 22 Feb 1864 at Green Bay, Wisconsin. Mustered there the same day. Bounty $300. Private. Took part with the Wisconsin 23rd in General Banks’ Red River campaign in 1864. Died of congestive chills on 7 Aug 1864 at Brashear City, Louisiana.
