WI 15th Inf Co G. Residence: New Glarus, Green County, Wisconsin. Born 8 Jul 1845 on Holv farm in Voss, Norway. Came to Green County, Wisconsin, in 1855. Civil War: Age 18. Farmer. Unmarried. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’6”. Enlisted for three years on 16 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Mustered there on 16 Feb 1864. Private. Wounded at New Hope Church, Georgia, in May 1864. Transferred to WI 13th Inf Co I on 11 Jun 1865. Sources: (WHS red book vol 18, p172) (Buslett) [O.A.Buslett quotes a newspaper story, published 27 Dec 1893, in which Anderson tells of being with Company G and fighting at Chickamauga, Georgia, and at Missionary Ridge, Tennessee, and that he marched with General Sherman to Atlanta and back to Nashville. He said that while with the 13th, he marched to St. Anthony, Texas, for three months and was mustered out there in December 1865, and the unit was then sent to Madison.
