Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’6”. Enlisted for three years on 16 Jan 1864 at Madison, Wisconsin. Mustered there on 16 Feb 1864. Private. Wounded at New Hope Church, Georgia, in May 1864. Transferred to WI 13th Inf Co I on 11 Jun 1865. He said that while with the 13th, he marched to St. Anthony, Texas, for three months and was mustered out there in December 1865, and the unit was then sent to Madison.
